History
TAGAsoft (geotechnical software) was founded in 1981 in Berkeley, California by Robert Pyke a geotechnical engineering consultant. In response to demands from clients, he developed a suite of geotechnical engineering applications. Over the years, TAGAsoft has added additional programs to the suite.
The name TAGA is short for Telegraph Avenue Geotechnical Associates. Telegraph Avenue, one of the main streets in Berkeley, was the location of the first TAGAsoft office.
TAGAsoft is the trading name for TAGA Engineering Software Ltd, a New Zealand registered company.
Management Team
Ian Brown (DEng, University of California, Berkeley) - Managing Director - is a New Zealand-based, geological engineering consultant with over 35 years' experience as geotechnical consulting engineer; senior management, including Managing Director, of publicly listed oil and gas companies (TSX, AIM). He has added expertise in the engineering of rock slopes, including open pit mines, and the interfacing of analysis programs with CAD and 3D geological modelling packages.
Peter Wright (B.Com, University of Cape Town) - Finance Director - has over 22 years experience as a finance executive; senior management, including Finance Director of publicly listed natural resource companies (AIM). Peter is based in Wellington, New Zealand.
