Three-Dimensional Stability Analysis for Slope with Arbitrary Sliding Surface Based on Minimum Potential Energy Principle

Shujie et al. propose a 3D slope stability method that does not discretize the sliding mass into columns. Using minimum potential energy, the method derives sliding displacement and normal forces directly from rigid-body motion assumptions. Results show good agreement with established 3D LEM approaches but with fewer assumptions.
