Jeldes et al. present analytical and FEM-based methods for designing concave slopes that are both mechanically stable and produce significantly less erosion than planar slopes. The study quantifies reductions in sediment yield and evaluates sensitivity to construction tolerance. Results show concave slopes can maintain adequate FS while reducing erosion 15–40%.
