Limit Analysis of Soil Slopes Subjected to Pore-Water Pressures

Kim, Salgado and Yu develop a limit-analysis framework for slopes subject to both positive and negative pore-water pressures. They incorporate full effective-stress treatment and derive closed-form upper-bound solutions for various pore-pressure distributions. The work highlights the sensitivity of FOS to pore-pressure shape functions and provides comparisons with LEM results.
