Development of a Probabilistic Kinematic Wedge Sliding Analysis Procedure and Application to a Rock Slope at a Hydropower Site in China

Zheng et al. develop a probabilistic framework for wedge sliding analysis by integrating structural geology uncertainty, joint orientation variability and discrete wedge formation. They apply the method to a hydropower-site rock slope, showing how probability distributions for joint sets significantly influence stability margins and risk assessment.
