Revision of the Effective-Stress Method of Slices

King re-examines the effective-stress formulation used in slice-based limit-equilibrium methods. He identifies inconsistencies in how pore pressure and shear strength are incorporated in some formulations and proposes corrections that improve accuracy, particularly for partially saturated soils. The paper refines the interpretation of effective stress within LEM.
