Seismic Rock Slope Failure Modes and Time-Dependent Displacements Using Single Block Methods

Gibson’s PhD dissertation defines new frameworks for predicting seismic rock slope failures beyond simple sliding, including toppling, confined toppling and slumping. It develops time-dependent displacement models analogous to Newmark analysis and validates failure charts using centrifuge and DEM simulations.
