Development of a Spectral Pseudo-Static Method for Dynamic Clayey Slope Stability Analysis

Ghobrial and Karray develop a spectral pseudo-static approach that incorporates site-specific ground response and frequency content into slope stability analyses. Unlike traditional constant seismic coefficients, this method uses period-dependent accelerations derived from ground-motion spectra. Validation with centrifuge testing and numerical simulations shows improved agreement with dynamic behaviour of clay slopes.
