Stability Coefficients for Earth Slopes

Bishop and Morgenstern compute dimensionless stability coefficients for a wide range of earth slope geometries and soil conditions. Using effective-stress limit-equilibrium analyses, they tabulate factors of safety as functions of slope angle, height, pore pressure and strength parameters. The coefficients allow rapid hand-calculation checks of stability without repeating a full slice analysis for each case.
