Pantelidis and Griffiths derive a closed-form analytical solution for 2D slope stability by developing force–moment equilibrium equations without the need for iterative slice methods. They provide explicit expressions for resisting and driving forces, weight integration, pore-pressure effects, and external loads. Worked examples compare the closed-form solution with Bishop, Janbu and Spencer results, showing good agreement across varied geometries.
