A Three-Dimensional Slope Stability Problem in Clay

Silvestri presents a benchmark three-dimensional slope stability problem in stiff clay and compares solutions from different numerical approaches. The study examines how slip-surface shape, side-slope boundaries and loading conditions influence 3D factors of safety. It provides reference solutions that can be used to validate new 3D limit-equilibrium or finite-element procedures.
