Two-Dimensional Seismic Stability Analysis of Slopes Using TELDYN

Hu and co-authors use the dynamic finite-element program TELDYN to perform 2D seismic stability analyses of slopes. They model nonlinear soil behaviour and input earthquake motions, then back-calculate yield accelerations and permanent displacements for representative slopes. Results are compared with Newmark sliding-block predictions to illustrate the limitations of simplified methods and the benefits of fully coupled dynamic analysis for critical projects.
