Guidelines for Open Pit Slope Design in Weak Rocks

Companion volume to the main LOP guideline that focuses on open pit slope design in weak and weathered rocks such as saprolites, altered volcanics and weak sedimentary sequences. Martin and Stacey present guidance on geological and geotechnical models for weak rocks, appropriate laboratory and in situ testing, hydrogeological characterisation, stability analysis methods and slope performance monitoring tailored to these materials. The book bridges the gap between soil and rock slope practices, providing a framework for safely designing large open pits where weak rocks control slope stability.
