Multiscale Modelling of Geomechanical Behaviour

Karchewski and Brandon develop a multiscale numerical framework linking micro-scale particle behaviour with macro-scale geomechanical response. The thesis integrates DEM and continuum modelling to simulate dilation, anisotropy, strain localisation and progressive failure, providing improved constitutive understanding relevant to slope deformation modelling.
